Average Depth: 45 ft. / 14 m
Max Depth: 55 ft. / 17 m
Paul’s Reef is located in 50 feet of water, situated about seven miles south of the Palm Beach Inlet, Paul’s Reef is one of the most pristine and enjoyable drift dives in Palm Beach. The main ledge, which runs north to south, begins at 54 feet and rises to 42 feet. This beautiful 8 feet ledge runs SE to NW and is decorated with lots of colorful soft corals, barrel sponges and rock crevices. Paul’s Cut, the most exciting part of this reef system, can be found where the reef turns to the west before making a sharp cut back to the east.
This reef has ledges covered in gorgonians, corals, sponges and attracts large numbers and species of fish. This is a shell-collectors dream dive. In the sand, divers can find countless sand dollars, helmet shells, and fighting conch shells. Divers may spot turtles and sharks sleeping among the ledges too. Paul’s Reef also makes an excellent night dive spot as numerous large parrot fish, turtles, and sharks can be found sleeping.
Nice drift dive site for any level diver.
